Northside Bar & Grill
The Scene:
The Northside has survived in this wacky neighborhood for more than 15 years. The bar takes up almost all of one room, and a pool table takes up all of another. A street-side, glassed-in patio opens up in the summer. Service is friendly, but in keeping with the leisurely atmosphere, not always prompt. Weekend lunch is packed with young, attractive locals, offering prime people-watching and a chance to sit outside and drink in the atmosphere on a beautiful day. Nights get crowded before club-happy kids make thier way to the clubs.
The Draw:
The Northside’s food menu offers a basic assortment of starters (wings, calamari, hummus), salads, sandwiches (tuna, grilled chicken) and half-pound burgers, plus a few entrees like New York strip steak, grilled catfish, and linguini alfresco. The kitchen is open till 2am on weekends.
